Tam’s 25-Day Keto Journey – Day 13

Oh boy, do I miss popcorn. Popcorn with artificial butter sauce poured all over it in layers, covering your fingers with grease every time you grab a fist full. A must-have at the movies. That smell when you enter the movie theater while the staff are cooking up a hot, fresh batch — it’s intoxicating!
Today. is the day I get to watch the long-awaited Avengers: Infinity War. Since, I couldn’t get good seats for opening night, or the next day, I booked seats for Saturday and tried to stay off social media as much as I could for those 2 days to avoid internet a-holes posting spoilers.
And you know what? I successfully avoided all of the spoilers! So, what was I going to do my inevitable craving for popcorn? I just avoided people ruining one of my most anticipated movies for 2018, I can stay on keto. F*ck popcorn! JK I still love it, but not this time.
Before the movie, I had a home cooked meal (keto of course), so I left with a full stomach to avoid being tempted by food — it’s hard to get tempted when you’re not hungry! For good measure, I brought a big bottle of water and a bag full of roasted almonds. And lastly, the plan for after-movie eats if I was hungry then was the nearby Chipotle where I could get a salad bowl with chicken. Check, check, and check!
For keeping your social life while on keto, I’m learning that knowledge and preparation are key. Either you know exactly what you can eat and where to get it while you are out, or you prepare yourself by bringing things that you can eat. Be ready!
